SUMMIT NEWS

19 May 2023

A big thank you to all speakers and guests of our first Munich New Space Summit. You made this event a success!

No matter if called “New Space” or “Next Space”,

the unanimous opinion is that New Space must be demand-driven. A common European strategy is important but ultimately it is the end-user’s need that drives the directions of New Space. Despite all crises in the world, investors as well as founders still see the current times as excellent for starting a New Space business and consider Europe and specifically Munich as the place to be.

A special thank you to our co-hosts Airbus and LBC and our co-organizers AZO, bavAIRia, SpaceTec Partners and BHO Legal, and to our sponsors BDLI, Rivada Space Networks, Ariane Group, SaxaVord Spaceport UK, EUSI and GMV. The summit has been supported by the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy.

We are proud and happy to contribute to the development of New Space and to bring people together with the same passion.

“With the right team and the right mindset, the sky is no limit!”

(Nicola Winter, Munich New Space Night)

See you all at the

Munich New Space Summit 2024!

Stay tuned!

Space is undergoing a profound transformation. Private actors are now shaping a global market that has long been driven by public institutions. Innovations from space have become key technologies for climate protection and data-driven business models – on Earth and in orbit. But how can we improve the transfer of promising ideas into helpful products or services? How do we finance these often-costly ventures? How can governments moderate the transformation of space?

What is the conference about?

For the first time, leading experts in the field of New Space will meet for a conference in Munich.

From 15 to 17 May 2023, established companies, government organisations, research institutions,

start-ups and investors will exchange views on how to transform an entire industry regionally, nationally

and internationally.

The summit is organised by Munich Aerospace and supported by the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy and the German Aerospace Industries Association (BDLI).

What can participants expect?

Participants of the Munich New Space Summit 2023 can expect a varied mixture of current topics and developments within the sector. Global opportunities and challenges will be addressed during interesting lectures, exciting round-table discussions and inspiring exchange sessions between scientific representatives, VIPs, SMEs and start-ups.

In addition to the conference with high-ranking officials, decision-makers and international best practices, an exhibition area and the first Munich New Space Night offer opportunities for interchange and networking.
